About our foodbank

Here is an introduction to our project.

Our Cannock and District Foodbank is a project founded by local churches and community groups, working together towards stopping hunger in our local area. We opened in December of 2012 by the Pye Green Christian Centre, where Karen Greenwood was a key driver in starting our Foodbank.

Here at Cannock and District Foodbank we like to celebrate successes, by thanking everyone who donates food, money, time and effort. Every week we like to advertise the wonderful members of our community who contribute to us in special ways, as we would not be able to do what we do without them!

Some facts and figures…

Since opening we have given out 238,824.27 kg of food to 21,775 members of the public. That’s 14,612 adults and 7,163 children who have used our services over the past 7 years! This equates to 195,975 meals given out in our Foodbank lifetime. This just demonstrates how needed our Foodbank really is.

To help support us we have 30 donors who contribute monthly and around 150 donation points, with All Saints Bednall being our very first to accept donations.

How many people work here?

In the entirety of our Foodbank network we only employ 2 paid staff, but we have over 138 volunteers!! Our Foodbank would not run without the support from any one of these individuals.
