This week’s news!

11th October 2019

This week’s news… There’s a lot!

Introducing… Café JEHU!

A warm, welcoming and relaxing place for people to visit and eat a snack, panini or maybe drink a cappuccino!

Open Monday – Saturday, 11:00 – 15:00 to start with, serving ‘ready to eat’ food with hot and cold beverages also. Proud vendor of the delicious Yarde Farm Ice Cream. Wifi available.

Café Jehu will be a not-for-profit enterprise for the purpose of financially supporting The Cannock and District Foodbank and the other charity work we do here at Pye Green Christian Centre.

Sound interesting?
We are currently in set-up, and are looking to fill 10-12, 3 hour volunteer slots.

Volunteers must be friendly, kind and have a positive attitude, ready and willing to serve.

Training will be provided, including cleaning and working the till. Food Hygiene lv2 is a bonus if you have it, but will be provided anyway.

If this sounds like something you would like to get involved in please get in touch with us by clicking this link! Alternatively, please download our Volunteer Application Form from our ‘Volunteer’ Page and drop it in to us!

We want to say thank you!

We had a visit at the weekend from the lovely Sally and her husband and daughter from A F Blakemore wholesalers, donating again to the foodbank. They are always so supportive and generous with their donations, this time giving around half a ton of food! Thank you so much. All the food we receive makes such a big difference to local people in need.

We want to say thank you!

Thank you so much to Bourne Methodist Church, for their kind donation of £221 following a successful Harvest lunch fundraiser.

Another thank you!

THE GIFT OF GIVING BACK!

We were so touched to receive a £100 donation recently from an anonymous donor recently. All we know is that it was a gentleman who has previously needed to use the Foodbank himself and he is now gratefully back on his feet and wanted to give back to show his thanks and appreciation!

Thank you – whoever you are! We are thrilled to hear how life has turned around for you.

Our weekly shortages!

Following from our Harvest Appeal for our Top-10 Most Needed Items, we are still running low on all 10!

So to remind you:

We are in urgent need of…

  1.  Pasta sauce
  2.  Squash
  3. UHT milk
  4. Tinned fruit
  5. Tinned meat
  6. Tinned fish
  7. Tinned tomatoes
  8. Biscuits / snacks
  9. Coffee
  10. Rice pudding / custard

Thank you to all the schools, churches and local businesses who have been supporting the Foodbank during their recent harvest celebrations and continue to do so throughout the year! We would not be able to do the work we do without the lovely donations from YOU – members of the public!
