This week’s news!

Apologies for it being 2 weeks late, I was on my jollies!

Why do we ask for specific foods?

You might be wondering why we ask for specific things when we have food shortages!

Our food parcels are designed to last for at least 3 days & include specific items to create balanced meals. We work from “Food Allocation Forms” to make sure each food parcel has the right amount of everything in it!

News from our neighbours!

Our neighbours – FUCHSIA WORLD have a big sale on! There are some stunning plants & hanging baskets still available and all with 50% off! Come & treat yourself and get your garden looking beautiful this summer!

Plus we mustn’t forget the fabulous OUTDOOR WORLD next door too – with everything you need for your summer holiday camping trip or for festival season!

How can you help during the school holidays?

Today is officially the first day of the SUMMER HOLIDAYS!

Sadly during the Summer holidays, food banks across the country see the demand for emergency food parcels soar, showing just how many families are living close to food poverty.

Here at Cannock and District Foodbank, more than one third of food distributed goes to needy children. School-age children between five and 11-years-old are most likely to require emergency food parcels, especially when term time comes to an end during the summer months.

We are grateful for your continued support with food donations, especially during the school holidays, so we can continue to support families in crisis.

Did you know?…

We are supporting several School Holiday Clubs throughout the summer, all with the aim of helping families in crisis.

Fit and Fed aim to tackle the triple threat of holiday hunger, isolation, and inactivity. Progressive Sports offer clubs during the summer and will be operating out of Pye Green Valley School.

We are really pleased to be supporting these amazing groups by providing a table full of varied foods to ease the burden of food poverty for children in our area.

WOW! Thank you so much!!!

It’s amazing when a community come together to make a difference, how much can be achieved.

We shared on Facebook that we were struggling with certain shortages & you absolutely showed up in your masses to help us! Our stocks are really starting to look better! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

 Our shortages this week!

We are still looking to grow our stocks of these following lines:
MILK, SQUASH, TINNED FRUIT, TINNED POTATOES & COFFEE
Thank you so much for your continued support. Donations can be taken to Asda, Co-Op, Morrisons, Sainsbury’s or Tesco’s or any of the locations on this link.

Do you want to be a regular donor?

We are still continuing our search for regular donors of £5 a month to our 200 CLUB.
The 200 CLUB is simply a name for our plight to find 200 people who would be willing to give a regular standing order / monthly donation of £5 a month.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
